Outrageous Ideas Starting a Comedy Club Or Comedy Night

Life is getting monotonous and it feels like you are ploughing through the dredges every day looking for a bright spark. Then it hits you to do something simply outrageous that will lead to a raucous amount of laughter and terrible aches to the stomach because of laughing stitches. You are thinking of starting a comedy club or comedy night. You shoot it down because it is too idealistic and the logistics behind will drive you nuts. Its either that or you trudge back to the boredom. Well, its not. There is a silver lining in your pathetic life after all.

Starting a comedy club or comedy night might sound like a bold idea but it really is not that difficult. The first task is to rally the audience. Without an audience, who is going to enjoy this performance with you? Invite your closest friends and family members, take it as a time to bond back with them. Have a good laugh and the chance to revisit this scenario later on in life. If you would like to make this a social event, go on and invite friends and acquaintances , even friends of friends can be invited. Use this opportunity to widen that social circle of yours.

The next step in starting a comedy club or comedy night will be to find a suitable venue. If the event is merely a small get together, a gathering of not more than 10, any living room of decent size and space is fine. Just move the furniture a little for a clearing, put some cushions on the floor and you have an impromptu yet comfortable stage and seats. What is more, you will be so close to the comedian, you just might be able to spot a nose hair or two. If the event is a large social event, a larger clearer area will be needed. If you are low on a budget, try the lawn on a good sunny day or any amphitheater nearby. Make sure you have the license to host a gathering there before you start to.

A little food might be in order. If not, at least have some drinks on hand. Laughing can lead to quite a hoarse throat at time and a little cordial will not hurt the larynx and the wallet. You can also organize it to be a little pot luck lunch.

Most importantly though, you will need the comedian. Hire a comedian from an entertainment booking agency. Tell them if its a family event or stud’s night or whatever it is and they will send a suitable comedian over to entertain. From here on, everything will be handled. Just make sure not to eat that much prior to the show or you will be grasping your stomach and laughing away in pain.
