Comedy Night on Your Hen Weekend
Enjoy a night of comedy on your hen weekend.
A hen weekend should be something to remember with you and your favourite girls. A raucous night of fun and giggles is usually prescribed so it’s no surprise that a comedy evening has become a popular choice for hen nights in the UK. With venues up and down the country it’s easy to find somewhere that will help you laugh your socks off on that last weekend of freedom!
Why Comedy?
Everyone knows that laughing is one of the best feelings you can have. There’s nothing quite like having something tickle your funny bone until you’re rocking back and forth in fits of giggles until tears are streaming down your face. It makes us feel good, it’s a great way to enjoy each other’s company and it also helps burn calories – which is always a good thing! A comedy evening is a great way to spend a hen weekend as it’s a fantastic ice breaker. When people laugh they become more relaxed and it makes it easier for everyone to chat to one another. It’s also a great subject of conversation once the comedy has finished as you talk about and relive your favourite jokes.
What Can You Expect
Normally you would have a table booked for you before you arrive. Comedy is very popular and many venues require you to book ahead to guarantee a seat. Once you arrive you’ll be shown to your table where you can get settled and get some wine in for the girls. Some venues also provide food so if you wanted to combine a meal out and a comedy experience this would be ideal for your hen weekend. It means that you don’t have to walk from the restaurant to the venue giving you more time to enjoy yourself with your friends!
Tips to Enjoy Comedy
The best tip to enjoy an evening of comedy is to just enjoy the entertainment laid on for you by the different acts. If you’ve never been before though here are some hints that you might want to bear in mind.
Get there early
You don’t want to be struggling to find a seat, or even worse, trying to get you and the girls through a crowded comedy venue to your table whilst the first act is on. It’s best to get there in plenty of time and relax before the show starts.
Sit near the front if you dare…
A good comedian will interact with the audience which is usually those sitting nearest to them at the front. Most comedians won’t deliberately set out to embarrass you and your friends but will look for people who can give them some lively banter. If you think you and the girls can do this then take a deep breath and take those front row seats
Don’t heckle
On the rare occasion, something shouted out from the crowd to the comedian can benefit the performance, but just shouting out that you don’t like the act will only make it harder for them to try and entertain you and also make things uncomfortable for the rest of the audience. It’s a hard job trying to make people laugh so remember to give your comedians all the support you can.
